Course Description

If anyone deserved the respect of Corinthian believers, it was the apostle Paul. Yet in his second letter to the church at Corinth, we find Paul defending his character and credibility against the malicious attacks of false apostles. Rather than highlighting his personal strengths, amazingly, Paul points to his weaknesses! Paul’s approach reveals one of the paradoxes of God’s kingdom: God’s strength was made perfect through the apostle’s weakness. So it remains today. God’s sufficiency shines in the face of our insufficiency, and his most powerful work is accomplished through us when we acknowledge our weakness and complete dependence on him.

The 2 Corinthians online course features scholar Scott Hafemann teaching through the book of 2 Corinthians in engaging and challenging lessons. Each lesson explores the links between the Bible and our own times that reveal the book’s enduring relevance for our twenty-first-century lives.

By completing this course, you’ll gain:

  • Greater familiarity with and appreciation for the Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians
  • Insight into issues in Paul’s culture and in ours that help us understand the ultimate meaning of each passage
  • A deeper understanding of how to apply the theology of Paul to your own life today
  • Confidence in your growing knowledge through personalized review sessions and unit assessments
